Altar (for Robin)
The altar is the focal point within a theater of ritual. In Altar (for Robin), a balance is struck between reference and invention, drawing from the tradition of votive offerings and spaces created for performance. Installed in a room of a 17th-century Florentine palazzo, the environment took on an aura of solemnity which was marked by directed points of light, color, makeshift holy objects, and the sporadic ringing of chimes.
